Finisar Optical GBICs Transceivers

All Finisar optical GBICs support two wire serial communication protocol. These GBIC use an Atmel AT24C01A 128 byte E2PROM (with an address of 101000X). Not only this, but all Finisar optical GBICs incorporate a microcontroller that monitors system parameters such as laser current, laser temperature, and in the case of 1300mm/1550nm parts, transmitted power. Finisar's XFP, XPAK, X2, 300-pin, SFP, SFP+, 2x6, 2x7, and 2x10 SFF and selected GBIC transceivers feature a microprocessor and diagnostics interface that provides performance information on the data link.

Description: Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver; compatible with the Small Form Factor Pluggable Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA);complies with SONET OC-48 IR-2 (SDH STM S-16.2) standards, Gigabit Ethernet as specified in IEEE Std 802.3 and Fibre Channel FC-PI 13.0 and  SONET OC-12 SR and SONET OC-3 standards; and digital diagnostics functions are available via the 2-wire serial bus specified in the SFP MSA.
